ALMA

Gracias

I´ve been thinking about how to say goodbye to 2017 and I would like to do it hightlighting our biggest success ever that is your unconditional support, your warm welcoming and your love. And I want to deeply thank you all because this is what really allow us to keep on working and thinking that another way on making business is possible. Today I want to share with you a very personal thought… it is something that has a lot to do with the fact that our very existence is almost a miracle, a miracle only possible because people like you follow us and buy our stuff .  Yes, I consider a miracle our survival as a company  in such a big and globalized world where corporations rule. Sometimes when I walk on the streets and I see the front windows of the low-cost fashion corporations I find myself bewildered by the low prices and designs offered . These big companies are our competitors and it is like ants fighting giants… Everyday you buy something you can either choose to buy from big tycoons or from small designers like us…And when you choose us you need to know that you help us a lot, you  give us life, the fuel to keep our dreams marching on…it is your acts of buying from small designers what make another business model possible. Yes, we are generally more expensive (and those of you who buy from us make an extra effort) but I can tell you that our profit is not that big, there is not such a margin. We just make enough to keep on with the business. We work very hard to compete with multimillionare companies that deploy massive resources to hire the best designers , coolhunters , commercial  teams,  the best advertisment agencies…Companies with money enough to buy garments from high designers and copy them and hire lawyers to defend their piracy so on… And do no forget that this companies produce their garments overseas in poor countries where workers do get  very small wages and do not have many rights, countries with very little enviromental legislation. Countries where they can produce at the minimun cost. We are very much against that and we are still alive. We produce locally in workshops where people earn fair wages, with people who have the right to have paid holidays and social security, people who enjoy laboral rights hard earned by their parents and grand parents fights in Europe,  people with whom we have a long standing emotional relationship…Working in such a manner has obviously a high cost, a cost passed on our final prices. Making a garment is hard work. It involves many hours of work. This way it is so difficult  for us small designers to compete with companies that are paying  workers 70 euros a month…But there is something in which we are very competitive, there is something we do have and they do not, something you  value a lot: we have SOUL , we didn´t lose it in the way into bussines, we still have humane values. Our garments have SOUL, and this is something money can´t buy. We create every single garment in a very slow process, every garment is full of emotion and stories about the way we would like the world to be, stories to make the world more beautiful. And we think there is no way to create beauty in a ugly way.  Making things from the heart, in an honest and ethical way is the most beautiful thing we can offer you. Thanks for understanding our message, thanks for supporting us. 20 year after we started with LCDW we are still alive and this means there is still SOUL, there is still hope, still people able to appreciate the importance of SOUL. Thanks a lot. I´m very touched right now writing this….

I have been browsing online greater than three hours lately, yet I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you probably did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
